Report and appeal

How to tell the moderators about a problem, what happens next, and how to appeal a decision about you.

If someone is in danger right now, call 112 or your local emergency number first.

Report in the game: /report

Type /report <name> <what> <what happened>. For example:

/report Wanderer42 griefing broke my fence at the farm

For what, use one of these words. The first three letters are enough.

You are shown a case code: keep it. You are told in the game when your report has been dealt with.

  • You can report a player who is online, or who has been on since the server last started. For anyone else, use Discord or email (below).
  • You can send up to five reports an hour. The same report again is added to the one already open.
  • So that a moderator can see what happened, your report includes what the other player wrote in the last ten minutes, their messages the filter held back in the last half hour, and your own last five lines.

Report on Discord or by email

Tell us who was involved, what happened and when (the date, the time and your time zone), and give the case code if the game gave you one. A screenshot helps. Please send no more personal details than the report needs.

What is urgent

Safety reports are urgent: threats, words about self-harm, a child at risk, and private details shared. In the game, use safety as the kind. The chat filter also sends threats, other people's private details and requests for anyone's details straight to a moderator as urgent.

What happens next

A moderator reads every report.

How quickly we answer a report
Report First response
Urgent safety Within 24 hours, where reasonably practicable
Everything else Within 48 hours
  • You are told in the game when your report has been dealt with. What is done about another player is not shared.
  • The player you report is not told who reported them.

Appeal a decision

Every warning, mute, kick and ban comes with its reason and a case code. If you think a decision about you was wrong:

  1. Write to support@playrelicrealms.com, or open a support ticket on our Discord.
  2. Give the case code, your in-game name, and why you think the decision was wrong.

Another moderator reviews it where there is one; otherwise the server's operator does. You can appeal each decision once. We aim to reply within 48 hours and to decide within 14 days, looking at the evidence again, and the outcome is recorded on the case. A ban from the game does not stop you writing to us.

If an automatic chat mute was a mistake, write to support with its code in the same way. A moderator can lift it.

Keeping someone away

/ignore <name> keeps a player's chat and party invitations from you, and they are not told. If they broke the rules, report them too.

If you are going through something hard

You are not alone. If you are in danger, call 112 or your local emergency number. You can find a free, confidential helpline near you at findahelpline.com. You can also write to us at safety@playrelicrealms.com or open a ticket on our Discord, and a moderator will answer.
